Releasing Grief Clinic
This Releasing Grief ceremony opens a sacred safe space for you to give voice, process and release the pain and sorrows that are within whether you are grieving losing a beloved being in your life -human or animal, the ending of a relationship or career or grieving daily frictions or losses that have been added to the pile of unprocessed grief. It is so important to have ways to release these pains to keep clearing oneself. Hanging on to old pain just makes it grow until the weight of it smothers the connection to creativity, joy, and to life.
Many of us yearn to unburden ourselves with others, but find ourselves alone with our grief all too often. This is an opportunity to be validated, acknowledged and witnessed by compassionate healer horses allowing you to experience a level of healing that is deeply and profoundly freeing. The Serenity horses have practice holding space for many of our volunteers. The Tacoma News Tribune featured a story about one of the Serenity volunteers and how the horses at Serenity helped in the healing of the family after the death of her son in Afghanistan. Read and watch this powerful story How time and horses helped a Tacoma family heal . Acceptance and allowing the flow of the river of grief with its full range of emotions - anger, sadness, denial, despair, loneliness - creates space within for connection to self, life and others to grow again in love and tenderness.
During this Releasing Grief ceremony you will gain awareness of the felt sense of grief within your body and learn tools to understand and be with grief allowing it to flow and have time with the horses for self-contemplation and releasing grief.

"How does one express immense gratitude for a moment in time that made time stand still and the heart begin to calm and experience rest?
Your welcome greeting and hug this morning assured my fragile vulnerabilities were not only welcomed but also safe. It has been quite sometime since I've known that. Thank you.
Zoe and Annie will be forever etched in my heart. Standing still and allowing while crying and feeling that I was welcomed into their herd was felt inside and out of my body. There are no words to describe how I felt as those gentle giants spoke to me, coming directly to me and simply allowing their medicine to heal my heart.
